If you are looking for full coverage (not just venue liability), you will want to purchase your wedding insurance as soon as you begin to pay deposits. Some vendors usually require a significant non-refundable deposit up front with the remainder due by the day of the event.

If you are looking at a customized insurance solution as opposed to liability only, the answer is yes. Coverage is provided if weather conditions are extreme enough where most of your guests, or any important guests cannot attend the wedding. Extreme conditions include hurricanes and named tropical storms. This would not include an average thunderstorm.

If an accident or illness prevents an important guest or an immediate family member from attending the wedding, we provide coverage, if the illness was not due to a pre-existing condition. Keep in mind that this type of coverage is only offered in a customized insurance solution.  The liability policies that are typically required by the various venues do not cover this situation.

Cancellation coverage is available for weddings that are scheduled to take place in (or cruise ships departing from) the United States and territories/possessions, Canada, United Kingdom, Mexico, the Bahamas, Bermuda, and the Caribbean (excluding Cuba). Liability policies are available for weddings scheduled to take place in (or cruise ships departing from) the United States and territories/possessions and Canada. Our wedding cancellation policy provides protection if your film or digital files are lost or damaged before you take possession of them. The policy does not cover human error such as blurriness or under/overexposure.
